Irene F. Bahr established a private practice firm in 1987, after successfully working for the Illinois State Liquor commission for ten years. She has performed work for numerous distributers and retailers doing business in the State of Illinois, some of which have operations nationwide. These have included Phar-Mor stores, Walgreens, InterContinental Hotels, Wyndham International, Safeway/Dominick's Finer Foods, Pizzeria Uno's, British Airways, Houlihan's, Marriot International, and most recently Chipotle Mexican Grill.
She also has done work for various manufacturers including Anhueser-Busch, G. Heileman Brewing Co., Irish Distillers, Sutter Home Winery, Kendall Jackson Winery, and Jim Beam Co.
Her practice has included litigating license denial or disciplinary hearings at both the state and the local levels, including appeals to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission; administrative review actions; appeals in the appellate courts, evaluation and clearance of marketing proposals; franchise termination issues; evaluating license eligibility issues in relation to merger activity or other eligibility issues; consulting on licensing issues related to business transfers and securing licenses in connection with such transactions; federal issues including labeling, licensing application procedures and some work for local licensing authorities.
